8 Must-haves for summer weddings
8 Must-Haves for Summer Weddings 2015 by Stuart Green @ Firework Crazy
If you are searching for some final additions to your summer wedding, then the below ideas are simple must-haves you don’t want to miss.
The following ideas will make wedding planning a lot easier, as the ideas are easily adaptable around your wedding theme and colours. Add these ideas to your wedding reception and make sure you wow your guests with thoughtful and quirky ideas!
1. Wedding Street Signs
If you are adding informative signs for guests to find your venue, you should definitely design them in a street sign style.
You can find companies that make these for you or you can go with a DIY version, if you are looking for something more budget-friendly.
2. Hot Air Balloon Paper Lanterns
Paper lanterns are a beautiful addition to a summer wedding and the hottest trend in 2015 is the use of hot air balloon-style lanterns.
You can use these in the evening for lighting up the venue or fill the baskets with beautiful fresh flowers to decorate the venue!
3. Flavoured Water Jugs as Table Decorations
The hope is to wake up to your wedding day on a beautiful sunny day. But a sunny day can also mean a hot wedding venue and you don’t want your guests to get dehydrated from having fun!
Add simple glass jugs with flavoured water on the tables. If you will them with fresh mint leafs, orange wedges and even fresh berries, you’ll also have a beautiful decorative element on your dinner tables!
4. Pinwheel Fans
Pom poms have been a big decorative hit in recent years, but 2015 is all about paper pinwheel fans! These make a great decoration above the buffet table or the wedding couple’s dinner table, for example.
You could even use smaller pinwheels and add them to a simple wooden frame. Use this as a frame in your photo booth for funky photos of the guests.
5. Garden Games
If your wedding venue has outside space or perhaps you are even organising the whole event outdoors, garden games add plenty of entertainment for your summer wedding!
You can find a number of fun outdoor-sized games online. A quirky game of chess, for example, will be something fun to do for people who might not be that into dancing.
6. Fireworks Grand Finale
Summer nights are also perfect for a fireworks display! Fireworks make great wedding entertainment – it is something both young and older guests will enjoy.
Organise a little display at the end of the reception. You could even say your goodbyes right before the display and make a sneaky exit while guests are enjoying the show!
7. Summer Favours
Why not give your wedding guests a quirky summer-inspired goodie bag as the wedding favour?
If you want to make it more personalised for the wedding, get canvas bags that have the wedding day printed on them!
8. Sunset Photos
Finally, take advantage of the stunning summer sunset and snap a few photos as the sun is setting down. You can create amazing photos in the dimmed light and even add in a few sparklers to make it more fun!
