Kirsty and Martin had me as their wedding photographer in 2014. It feels like ages ago. Since then, they’ve had a beautiful baby girl named Jennifer and I felt so honoured when Kirsty asked me to let her know when I’m next up in Glasgow. She wanted me to do some family photos for them. It was so lovely to see them again after the past (almost) 2 years and see their gorgeous daughter. We initially set out to do our session at Colzium House. It had just rained all day and there must have been about a million midges out. They were set out to bite every bit of bare skin they could find.
We decided to head back to Kirsty and Martin’s lovely home instead. Their home was perfect – beautifully decorated, stunning light – and more importantly, it was where Jennifer was growing up. I thought that it all happened for a reason because I really love these photos! In August we’re doing a 2year anniversary shoot and I am holding my fingers crossed that there are less bugs around to bite us!
Behind the scenes
It was such a compliment to see a huge section of one of their living room walls decorated in a collage of frames. Each frame had an image from their colourful wedding last year, all taken by me. I couldn’t help but smile wandering around looking at how proud they are of the photos. They also had other pieces from their wedding day like the decor they had on tables, a drawing that Martin did for Kirsty, and beautiful photos taken on their honeymoon touring the north of Scotland.
Guys, thanks for having me. I loved hanging out with you and Jennifer and I really hope these images bring you as much happiness and fond memories as your wedding photos. Thank you for letting me into your home due to the bugs. Thank you for hanging out with me and trusting me to capture these moments for you.
