Best Alternative Scottish Wedding Venues

Getting married in Scotland and looking for a wedding venue, that’s maybe a bit different?

Here’s my list of favourite unique Scottish Wedding Venues, in alphabetic order as a Scottish wedding photographer

Balinikhill Country House

I love this venue. It’s tucked away in a gorgeous part of Scotland, Argyll. I only shoot 1 or 2 here a year since it’s a bit of a trip – but it’s been worthwhile each and every time I’ve worked here. Perfect for intimate weddings and elopements, but can also hold larger weddings with a marquee.

Broxmouth Park

I photographed a wedding here in 2017, and ever since have just loved it. This stunning location near Edinburgh is a dream for any Edinburgh wedding photographer to get to capture!

The interior of the house was amazing and the marquee bit for the meal and celebration was spacious and well lit, and perfect for a big celebration in the evening. There were some amazing spots for photographs of the two of them to escape to, and I’d highly recommend giving it a look.

Byre at Inchyra, Perthshire

A fabulous blank canvas of a venue where you can really make it your own – but again another lovely venue where you don’t need to do much, If anything, to make it beautiful. Fantastic locations for photos, a good space for a wedding and plenty of dancing room.

Cairns Farm

A gorgeous exclusive use estate venue nestled away in the Lothians. Run by a team of incredible people, and some of the most beautiful architecture I’ve seen. Great convenience with accommodation on site, plenty of parking and a well lit with gorgeous views ceremony space.

Colstoun House

A unique exclusive use coachhouse based in Haddington with a beautiful house, polytunnel, stream, bridge, open space, plenty of parking, accommodation onsite and an incredible team. I’ve made a Colstoun House Weddings page here.

Comrie Croft, Crieff, Perthshire

Comrie is a fabulous venue that we considered getting married at ourselves. It’s affordable and a total blank canvas, and particularly suited to those who love the outdoors and things a little rustic. It has so much potential to make it completely your own, and is surrounded by the most beautiful spots for photographs. It’s my dream to photograph a wedding here.

Cottiers Theatre, Glasgow West End

Oh Cottiers, you cutie. A super chilled but beautiful venue that really has flare. A stunning theatre with some incredible architecture and delicious food! A great space for a big party, everyone in the one place together. Easy to get to in terms of travel and weddings here are always good fun!

Crear House and Studio, Argyll

Doune Castle, Stirling

Eden Village Leisure, Cumbernauld

A gorgeous venue less than 30 minutes from my doorstep, it’s definitely on my Wishlist to shoot at. It’s in a fantastic location, but has all the quirkiness you’re looking for in a venue that’s a bit different from what’s around us.

Errol Park, Errol, Perthshire

Harvest Moon Holidays, East Lothian

A unique wedding venue in East Lothian, this has been on my Wishlist for a while. It has everything you could wish for to plan a festival vibes glamping wedding.
